POLYALUMINUM CHLORIDE
Polyaluminum Chloride has become the coagulant of choice in many water
treatment applications. Delta Chemical Corporation manufactures a wide variety of Polyaluminum
Chlorides to meet a wide range of water quality objectives. Since Delta has manufactured chemicals
for over 60 years, the evolution from Aluminum Sulfate to Polyaluminum Chloride was a natural fit.
Delta's Polyaluminum Chlorides fall under the trade name DelPAC.
The DelPAC series includes DelPAC 2020 which has quickly gained wide acceptance as a cost effective
product which often improves finished water quality when compared to other coagulants including all
other Polyaluminum Chlorides commercially available.
DelPAC 2020, when used as a coagulant, can provide longer filter runs, reduce or eliminate the need
of alkali for pH adjustment, lower amounts of residuals and generally has the lowest overall costs
of any treatment program.
Delta provides on-site technical support.
In the Spring of 1999, The West Virginia Rural Water Association published an article
about one water treatment plant's experience in testing DelPAC 2020 in a plant wide trial.
